Overview

In this class, we will use generator functions to draw pie charts and symbol maps in d3.

Final Project

Next week, we will spend the entire class on developing your final projects further. The first half of the class will be devoted to proposal presentations and critique; the second half will be spent in independent coding, working in groups, and individual consultations. Come prepared to work on your final project in class.

Assignment

Assignments should be completed after class, and submitted to the correct GitHub repository by midnight on Monday before the next class. Late or missing assignments will negatively impact your grade.

• PS01: Work on developing your final project, using any of the visualizations that we have covered so far in class.
• PS02: Create a brief (5 mins) proposal presentation for your final project. (Slides must be submitted along with your homework)
  • Slide one: Overview of your data, and the question that you want to answer (what do you want your viewers to know after seeing your project?)
  • Slide two (through 4, if needed): Present sketches or early versions of visualizations, and discuss how they support (or don't support) users in gaining these insights.
  • Slide three: Summarize your current status, and where you plan to go from here.
