Overview

In this class, we will use generator functions to draw line, area, and pie charts in d3.

• What is a generator function?
• Drawing a simple line chart
• Drawing an area chart
• Taking a look at map data - GeoJSON files
• Where can I get map outlines?
• Plotting a basic map

Final Project

Critique of final project visualizations (homework from last week).

Assignment

Assignments should be completed after class, and submitted to the correct GitHub repository by midnight on Monday before the next class. Late or missing assignments will negatively impact your grade.

• PS01: Use a generator function or layout to create a visualization (line, area, or map) for one of your final project datasets. Include a title, labels and mouse interactions.
• Final Project: Continue developing your final project concept. (Nothing to turn in; bring new sketches to class). If you do not already have data with a geographic component, try to find something relevant to your project for next week.
