This project explores what it really means to have a “conversation” on Twitter. People use
social media in different ways, and for a variety of purposes. Most users
frame shift between different modes of communication, depending on the situation. Some users “broadcast” their views, others “echo” the views of people they
follow, and some participate in ongoing conversations. I am interested in visualizing the
behaviors of different users, to create a more nuanced view of what we call
conversation in social media.
